Dress-er Up!
I am in the process of revamping our bedroom. Just a little face-lift since we have not given this room much TLC.
OK, you got me. The real reason is because I can’t sit still and needed a design project. Happy now?
A few sneak peeks of the boudoir transformation will be featured in the next post. For now, let’s focus on dressing up that dresser.
Many years ago I bought this dresser at a thrift store:
I thought it was cool, edgy and was lured by the previous owner’s creative use of eye hooks. The fact it was $10.00 also helped.
A few years later when I reached a more mature (and more feminine) sense of aesthetics, I painted it and changed the knobs. I was so excited that I could transform a $10 dresser with only a few more bucks and get this:
And here we are almost a decade later and in need of another makeover.
I always loved vintage dressers with Hepplewhite style pulls, but did not want to spend a fortune on one. So I went to my trusted source Etsy for hardware. After many days spent looking, I came across these oil bronze (Hepplewhite-ish) pulls for $24.00!!! The dresser Gods were with me.
9 Years / 1 Dresser / 3 Looks / Under $50.00.
